I’ve always been a fan of Lush body sprays, and have quite a few in my collection. These delightful fragrances are not just well priced (much better value compared to their perfume counterparts), they also have decent staying power and don’t seem to expire. I can do without the bug repellent style bottle, but I suppose you can’t have it all!
When Lush announced their latest collection of body sprays, I was quick to snap them up. Having tried all of them, the results were quite surprising. I’ll be reviewing them from the order of least to my favourite.
Grape Soda – I had high hopes for this, because I love grapes and grape soda. However, the grape scent is very faint; this has quite a strong alcohol smell and the grape doesn’t stand out at all. Smells like a cheap watered down version of what grape soda should be like. Would not recommend.
Lemony Flutter – Exactly like Lemony Flutter, which is great for fans of the cuticle butter, but it’s also not the most interesting. Not sure what I was expecting (more depth to the fragrance perhaps) as it’s exactly what it is, a lemon fragrance. Would have been nice if this had more depth.
Sticky Dates – Very overpowering, sweet and slightly burned syrup smell; not what I would associate with summer, and it’s more of an autumn winter scent. If you like nauseatingly sweet, warm, woody fragrances, this is worth trying. However, woody scents are generally not my cup of tea. If you’re visiting a Lush store, I don’t recommend trying this one first as it’s very strong.
Peaches – To my nose, this smells exactly like last year’s Princess Peach body spray. I love the tropical peachy scent, but as I already have Princess Peach, Peaches ranks third. Princess Peach (£35) was more expensive than Peaches, which I assume to be due to the Mario licensing fees.
Passion – Juicy, fruity citrus, a delicious fragrance that is perfect for summer! Makes me want to also try Lush’s Passion bath bomb. This smells a little bit sweeter than Peaches, and both give a fun, summer vibe. I love sweet fruity scents; the fruitier, the better!
Space Girl – A pleasant surprise! Honestly, I was not expecting to like Space Girl the most, but I can’t get enough of it. I love the fresh grapefruit candy scent, which feels invigorating and instantly lifts my mood. It also seems to last longer on me than Peaches and Passion, so I’ll likely purchase another bottle for my stash before it sells out!
The body sprays retail at £25 each, 200ml.
